
Elysian Sands Resort
Designing the branding for Elysian Sands was all about honouring the desert without over-romanticising it. Sedona’s not just scenic—it’s textured, raw, and surprisingly grounding. We leaned into that. Earthy tones, uneven surfaces, and architecture that feels like it grew out of the rock itself. Nothing flashy, but everything intentional. The name itself—Elysian—evokes a blissful state, and that feeling carries through every touchpoint of the experience. The wordmark plays a starring role in the visual identity, shaped with organic textures that echo the rugged desert. Used boldly across signage, the website, and even merch, it brings strength and clarity, much like the landscape it mirrors. Angular elements give it a grounded, confident energy, while still feeling connected to nature. Colours reflect the vibrant, mineral-rich cliffs of Sedona—warm oranges, sunbaked reds, and bold blacks that add dramatic contrast. They symbolise vitality, energy, and the untamed spirit of the landscape. The resort features photography from local artists, and every space is curated to feel rooted in place—not a set, not a concept, but part of the land. Even the merchandise, inspired by the original Red Dirt Shirt, is dyed with local soil, to tie you physically to the place. And the mud cocoon experience deserves a moment of its own— a desert spa ritual that leaves you feeling restored, not polished. As travel trends shift toward more mindful, immersive escapes, Elysian Sands is less about checking in, and more about dropping in—to nature, to quiet, to yourself.
